BISP is one of Pakistan’s pivotal national safety net initiatives, established in July 2008. Functions and responsibilities of a BISP Tehsil office
- Beneficiary Registration: Registering eligible individuals and families from the tehsil into the BISP program, which involves collecting their demographic and financial information.
- Verification and Validation: Conducting verification and validation processes to ensure that registered beneficiaries meet the program’s criteria and are indeed in need of financial assistance.
- Disbursement of Funds: Ensure that funds are distributed to qualified beneficiaries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Records and documentation related to beneficiary information, payments, and other program information.
- Communication: Serving as a point of contact for beneficiaries to address their concerns, inquiries, or issues related to the BISP program.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Keeping track of program activities within the tehsil, monitoring the impact of the assistance provided, and reporting this information to higher-level BISP authorities.
- Coordination: Collaborating with other government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations to ensure effective implementation of poverty alleviation and social protection programs at the local level.
